Description

Task 1: Submit a work proposal for this assignment which must include: • Understanding of deliverables – a detail description of deliverables • General overview of proposed plan - initial understanding of solution to all the tasks • Resources identified.

Task 2: In 1997, different wireless mobile companies such as Ericson, Nokia, and Motorola start to work for a common standard to provide mobile computing services such as (access to the internet and advanced telephony services) and their efforts result in the foundation of WAP (Wireless Application Protocols) forum. This group defined a set of communications protocols for portable wireless devices (such as mobile phones, PDA) to send/receive and interpret data, independent of vendors and air link. The WAP basically provides a layered architecture known as WAP Protocol Stack similar to the OSI network model for bringing internet content to mobile phones and other wireless devices. Each layer performs almost the same functions as the corresponding layer of the OSI model. Given the background, provide a detailed report not more than 3,000 words on the following aspects of the WAP. a) Technically analyze the WAP layered architecture and protocol stack b) Elaborate the strength and weakness of the WAP and the future of WAP .

Task 3: Broadband wireless networks offers and alternative solution to the problem of information accessing in the areas where wired connection is not practical or economical. In addition, a major driving force towards the broadband wireless network adoption is due to the demand of accessing corporate network remotely form any place, anywhere and anytime. Further, the people want communication and the sharing of informations by eliminating the limitation of distance and location. Commonly the broadband wireless networks technologies can be classified into two types named (1) fixed and (2) mobile wireless broadband. The fixed broadband wireless network technology, provide internet connectivity to the user specific or permanent locations such like home and office. While in comparison in the mobile wireless broadband, the services are provides via smart phones and other wireless devices at any place at any time. With respect to the above extract, provide a detailed report on the following aspects of the broadband wireless network.

a) Critically evaluate the fixed and mobile broadband wireless network

b) Elaborate the strength and weakness of the fixed and mobile broadband wireless network

Computing has been on the rise for years now. This has been made possible by the introduction
of computers and the different associated computing technologies. Mobile computing has in the
recent past been underestimated where a lot of people who had no enough knowledge of the
principles behind the operations of mobile computing have always thought that mobile
computing is not as important as the other forms of computing. However, this is not the case.
Different forms of mobile computing have significant impacts on the daily activities that each
and every individual undertakes which is the basis upon which this paper is based.

Mobile and Pervasive Computing
Introduction
There are different forms and types of networking and computing that the current
technological advancements have presented in the recent past. A lot has changed and has been
invented which has all been brought about by the current and the dynamic world of technology.
It is through technology that mobile and pervasive computing have been made possible and
achievable. This paper is going to look at the different platforms of computing focusing more on
the mobile computing, describing the merits as well as the weaknesses of WAP layered
architecture and finally looking at the fixed and mobile broadband wireless network considering
the strengths and the weaknesses of the systems. These are the main objectives as well as the
primary goals of this paper. (Mcfaddin, & . Coffman , 2016)

Pervasive computing
This can be seen and described as is the developing pattern of inserting computational
capacity (for the most part as the chip) into regular items to make them viable impact and
perform valuable errands in a way that limits the end clients have to interface with PCs as PCs.
Inescapable registering gadgets are system associated and continually accessible. Not at all like
desktop figuring, unavoidable registering can happen with any gadget, whenever, in wherever
and in any information design over any system, and can hand assignments starting with one PC
then onto the next as a client moves from his auto to his office. In this way, unavoidable
processing gadgets have developed to incorporate portable PCs, journals and cell phones, as well
as tablets, wearable gadgets, armada administration and pipeline parts, lighting frameworks,
machines and sensors among others (Aziz, 2014). Mobile computing, on the other hand, can be
defined and described as a technology which has made it possible for the transmission of data,

voice as well as video through the various communication devices and the other wireless devices
which do not have to be connected to a physical link for communication to take place.

WAP Layered architecture
The WAP protocol stack has been designed to emulate the seven layers OSI model and is
as described below. The first layer is the wireless application e...
