Part I: Analysis of Leadership within an Organization (185 Points)
Analyze leadership in your current place of employment or one with which you are familiar. As part of your assessment, define the leadership approaches, traits, styles, and tasks accomplished within the organization.
Your well-written paper should be 3-4 pages long, include a minimum of three outside resources, and be formatted according to CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these resources. Part II: Personal Leadership Profile (165 Points)
Imagine yourself assuming a leadership role within the organization you analyzed for Part I. Then create a profile of yourself to share with current leaders. Your profile should demonstrate how you could serve as an effective leader within the organization and include the following components:
- Your leadership style
- Your values and personality
- Your abilities in motivating, communicating, team-building, relationship-building, and innovation
- Your strategy style
- Your followership style
- Your leadership vision
Keep in mind that this profile is not only to reflect you as an individual and as a leader, but it should also synthesize leadership knowledge acquired in this course.
Part II of your Portfolio may be delivered in the form most suitable to represent you and your style (e.g., written paper, PowerPoint, or an internet-based presentation tool such as Prezi or SlideRocket, a web page or a video). The profile should be well written; if you choose the written format, the paper should be 5-6 pages in length. If you choose an alternative format, it should contain the same depth, breadth, substance, and quality of form that would be in a well-written 5- to 6-page paper. A presentation should contain 10-12 content slides with fully annotated notes plus a title slide and reference slide using APA standards. A web page or a video must also have a title as well as references. This part of the Portfolio assignment must cite at least three outside references.

The success of the leadership process in any organization depends on its capability to
match the strategy-making process to the business functions, market needs, and industry
requirements. Leadership is an important management function that is designed for
maximizing the overall efficiency and facilitating the achievement the organizational goals. It
is for these reasons that organizations place a huge value on the leadership process in drawing
all the stakeholders towards a common vision and goal. Typically, leadership is centered on
influencing the conduct and behaviors of other participants and at the same time persuading
them towards the realization of common goals. Leaders have a responsibility to develop clear
and enthusiastic visions to induce and inspire followers to work with zeal and confidence for
the interest of the entire organization other than for personal interest (Beck & Yeager, 2005).
To facilitate these functions, leaders have a role in initiating actions, motivating
followers, providing guidance and direction, enhancing confidence and morale, coordinating
functions and above all, creating an inclusive and efficient work environment. This implies
that leadership is necessary across all levels within the organization in order to bolster social,
emotional and interpersonal support to reconcile personal goals with the organizational goals.
The roles and position of power lead to an implication of formal authority and power over
other people within the organization which in turn makes it possible to influence change.
Leadership focuses on creating and influencing followers out of their free will and without
compelling them to accept everything given to them (Owen, 2015). Instead, it creates a scope
for constructive criticism, feedback or opinions of the people on whom it is exercised.
Organizational leadership is perceived in different approaches. The qualities theory,
for instance, implies that leaders are born and are not made. As such, leadership composes of
specific personality qualities that are mainly inherited. On the other hand, the group or

functional approach implies that leadership can be developed and learned, with a focus on the
functions, responsibilities, and accountabilities of the leader and the group. A primary
emphasis lies on the role of the leader's behavior in affected and how it is affected by the
followers. The behavioral style of leadership focuses on the behavior of the people in various
leadership positions and how this influences the performance of various organizational
groups (Bligh & Kohles, 2012). Each of these styles varies and determines the value and role
played by the leaders.
The role of leadership is vitally recognized and integrated into the management role
and in driving the success of the multinational corporations such as Wal-Mart. This can be In

leadership process. Leadership, in this case, takes a transformational approach whereby the
leader creates a vision to transform and enhance the performance, efficiency, and productivity
