Quality and Operations Measurement
Recently, there has been the need to monitor and improve the quality and the
effectiveness of healthcare in the society. An effective measurement system puts in place
initiatives, creates an alignment of organizational units and resources and also improves
performance. It is essential that quality is measured, monitored and improved for the well-being
of the public and it is important that tools for measuring and improving quality be applied. In the
past twenty-five years, health systems performance measurement has highly improved.
Operations management aims at monitoring, evaluating and communicating the extent to which
