Discussion 1: Contract Performance
The United States SBA recommends that other than being knowledgeable in the federal
government contracting procedures, as a contractor, one should meet the labor standard statutes
and other statutes in order to advance national, economic and social goals. Yet again, as a
contractor, one should be aware of the contract provisions in order protect the integrity of the
process of procurement of the government. Such provisions include the “anti-kickback”
provisions and “officials not to benefit” clause.
Depending on the contract types that contractors have, they can face a vast amount of audit
oversight. It may translate into loss of credibility with the customers of the government, fines,
penalties and disallowed costs. To avoid and decrease such audit challenges, a contractor should
comprehend the audit techniques, objectives, the alternatives for analyzing and effectively
responding to the audit findings and also understanding the specific areas of audit emphasis.
Discussion 2: Data, Patents, and Copyrights
I believe that NSA overreacted to the small business’s use of their logo due to the fact that they

enacting, has a protection law but it however overreacted in this scenario.
Restricted and limited rights would be interrelated if the information was funded completely at
the expense of the contractor. Restricted rights imply that the federal government might just run
