Introduction
Slavery, the industrial and agricultural revolutions of the United States vastly altered the
socio-political fabric of the United States. The events caused more massive shifts in wealth in the
society. As a direct result of these leaps, the social and economic structure of the country. With it
came injustices that various movements have fought so hard to surmount. The movements rose
against personal liberties that were thought to impede the harmonious existence of the country
and the wellbeing of the social fabric. The temperance movement, abolition movement and
women suffrage pushes are single-handedly responsible for the changes in society. For instance,
the suffragists achieved with the socio-political rights that women enjoy in the present voting and
