There are several laws existing that have been exclusively established in order to fight for
the defendants. Despite the fact that the defendants are people who are accused of a criminal case
as defined by the law, there are also some laws that try to push for some of their rights as
defendants. Among some laws that try to protect the defendants, California v. Trombetta is one
that is very commonly used in many legal situations. This case was named after a dramatic case
that took place between the California Supreme Court and one defendant whose last name was
Trombetta in 1984. It has since been used in reference to many cases involving preservation of
evidence (Decker 2008). The law is majorly concerned with the preservation of evidence by the
law enforcers. It states that for trial to be rightfully made then, there must be sufficient evidence
to prove that the defendant actually got involved in the case and was the real offender. In some
