Media Options

According to Tuten & Solomon (2014), new media also known as online media such as
social media marketing involves the use of social media platforms or social networking sites
such as Facebook to develop, convey, provide, and discuss contributions that have benefits to a
firm’s stakeholders. Social media marketing is important to marketers because it is a cheap way
to interact with their markets and engage these markets throughout the entire buying phase. On
the other hand, traditional media marketing also known as established media marketing involves
the use of traditional media channels such as television, radio, and print publications by
marketers to advertise and sell their goods and services to the consumers having access to these
established media channels. Therefore, in the desire of realizing a larger market share,
enterprises could utilize both the traditional as well as the new media options that would assist in
reaching the audience across various demographics.
Differences between the Traditional and the New Media Option

includes the television, videos, and slides presentation while the print media comprises of the
newspaper, company’s journals among other printed information. On the other hand, the
channels for the new media option include the widely used social media as well as companies’
websites.

its market. This statement confirms the fact that marketing is multi-dimensional; it involves a
process that engages a product label and its market. N...
