Johann Sebastian Bach was a musician and composer from Eisenach, German during the
Baroque period and was born on March 31 in the year 1685. The Baroque period refers to an art
of music during 1600-1750 BC among the Westerners. Baroque music takes a huge portion of
the classical music. As an artist, he had a great musical lineage and assumed some organist roles
during the onset of the 18th C, coming up with remarkable works like “Toccata and Fugue...”
and much more. His long life of musical inspiration was brought to rest on July 28, 1750. In the
present world, he is regarded as one of the greatest iconic figures among many Western
composers.
Childhood Life
Bach was born on March 31, 1685, in Eisenach, Thuringia a place found in Germany. He
originated from a lineage of musicians with his father having worked as the Eisenach musician
taught him how to play violin correctly. At the age of seven, he was taken to school to receive
moral guidelines and at the same time studied other subjects alongside Latin. At the age of 10, all
his parent lost their lives and was left with his elder brother who took care of him through
providing him with broad musical guidelines. Bach left his brother’s family when he became 15
years old. He joined Luneburg school due to his beautiful soprano voice that caught many ears.
He shifted to playing harpsichord and violin when his voice began to change. Apart from his
family, George Bohm influenced Bach’s musical career landing him his first job in Ernst
municipality at Duke Johann’s court in 1703. During this time, he used to serve as a backup for
the official organist in the case of their absence while most of the time Bach was devoted to
playing the violin.
Early Career
At his early years, he was responsible for leading musical performance for special events
and religious services. His growing reputation as a musical performer is responsible for landing
him the position of organist in the newly established church at Arnstadt. Some religious leaders
scolded him for being arrogant towards his students at the church. Bach then disappeared for
several months despite the fact that he had been granted few weeks leave from the church in
1705. During this period, he paid a visit to organist Dietrich Buxtehude in Lubeck, and no one
back in Arnstadt knew about his extended leave. He then returned to Arnstadt but relocated to
