You must write a short paper. The paper must be typed and must not contain spelling or grammatical errors. The paper must be a minimum of two pages in length. You must choose a minimum of four cars and take a selfie or have someone take your picture by each car that you have chosen. The pictures must be attached to your paper or it will not be accepted. You must appear in the picture alone, no group pictures. This is my way to ensure that you attended the event. You must write about each of the cars you have chosen. The information must include the year, make, and model of the car. You must tell me what you find interesting about the car and what is unique about it. You must write about the purpose of the vehicle. Would a car like this be used as a family vehicle, for business, for pleasure? Does the vehicle represent the technology and style of its time? Were many of them produced? Was it a sales success? Did that particular vehicle remain in production for a long time before being replaced by a new model? How is this vehicle similar and yet different from other cars on the road today? This extra credit will be collected on the day of the final exam and no later. If you need to turn it in before the final, please do so on the last day of class. Bb © 1997-2017 Blackboard Inc. All Rights Reserved. U.S. Patent No. 7,493,396 and 7,558,853. Car Show Extra Credit
My visit to the car show was successful because I managed to discover a range of
automobiles with manufacturing dates ranging from historical and current. The car show room
had a range of automobiles. However, the Chrysler Airflow, Riley Nine’s replica, BMW i8 and
the Pontiac GTO models caught my eye and this led me to inquire and study a lot about them
The first vehicle in my list was a Chrysler-Airflow model, manufactured by the Chrysler
Company which is an American subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. This sleek
designed car model was made in 1937 and as I learned, it has an engine capacity of 49,000 cc
which is relatively 122 horsepower. Further, I learned that Chrysler chose to name the model as
“Airflow” based on its shape which the engineers made in a way that could easily navigate
through the air with minimal resistance. The car is designed in a streamlined way to facilitate
“Airflow” and to make it possible to achieve maximum travel speed. During its time, the car
represented sophisticated technology because it was designed with high power and good shape to
make it faster than other cars produced then. Due to its small size and capacity, the Chrysler
Airflow is can be categorized as a saloon car which cannot be used commercially to carry large
sizes of cargo. The introduction of this car to the market realized a commercial failure and after
a series of modifications, the car was replaced by the “Forward Look”. Currently, the car is not
owned by many people in America and only few can be seen on the road.

The second type of vehicle which caught my attention was the Riley Nine’s replica. This
car was made in 1933 by the Riley Company of Coventry...
