Using 3-D printing, their goal is to create an online database of 3-D printed heart from patients with congenital heart defects, which will help standardize the process of printing hearts.3-D printing technology is offering a revolutionary way to develop to pursue new product development in all industrial settings. Back in 2014 when I was doing my clinical research sabbatical fellowship at NIH, 3-D printing application were being explored in prosthetic devices as well. (Links to an external site)No citations please and below is a sample post posted by my class mate.With about 3000 patients currently waiting patiently for a heart transplant, 3-D printable hearts might be the miracle everyone was waiting for. I think 3-D printing will solve a lot of problems that we are now facing in the medicinal sector. One of the big problems hospitals are facing is the number of organs they have readily available for surgeries. I wouldn't stop at the hearts just yet! Think of all the wonderful lives we could change for the good. I wouldn't only limit 3-D printing to just hearts I would make arms, lungs, livers, and this could possibly go as far as nerve replicas.On the other hand, will you still be considered human if your running around with prosthetic device as your organ? This will open up a huge range of disadvantages that might outweigh the advantages. Where will this new technology lead us to? Will we be able to completely replace humans altogether? How will this have effects on the black market? Can this technology get into the wrong hands?I think 3-D printing is a great new tool and way to look at the medicinal field. This new technology will change and save so many people's lives. There will have to be lots of new regulation and safety measures that come with this. In sum, you will give a report (case analysis) on the case that you are researching by using the stages describe in Exhibit 3-1. More than likely, you will not find information on each stage. However, your case analysis should have the stages that are described below. Each stage should have at least two paragraphs. In the first paragraph, you should describe what should generally be expected to occur at that particular stage. The second paragraph should describe what happen in your case at that stage in the lawsuit. In Stage One, “Case Facts”, give a brief Statement of Fact describing what your case is about. A reader should be able to get a general idea as to what the case is about. This description can be one or two paragraphs.Stage Two, “Consult with Attorney”, describe the type of attorney that was sought and what type of fee the attorney would charge in your type of case. If you can’t find this during your research, describe the type of fee that is generally charged in the type of case you are analyzing.In Stage Three, “Informal Investigation”, please describe any informal investigation that may have occurred. If you cannot find this during your research, as a business owner or manager, describe what type of informal investigation you would have conducted. This could include finding the contract, accumulating emails, or interviewing employees. In Stage Three, “Plaintiff’s Complaint”, describe the Complaint that the plaintiff filed with the court. You should name the theory of law the plaintiff is using and how the plaintiff is using the theory. You should also state what relief the plaintiff is seeking. In Stage Four, “Defendant’s Answer”, describe the defendant’s response to what the plaintiff's complaint. In other words, describe the defendant’s defense to the plaintiff’s complaint. This could a disagreement as to one of the elements that need to be proven by the plaintiff by a preponderance of the evidence or an absolute defense. In Stage Five, “Discovery”, describe what Discovery took place. If you cannot find this during your research, describe what discovery may have taken place (i.e., depositions, interrogatories, etc). You should describe the discovery techniques and how it would have been used. Stage Six, "Motions", should describe any motions filed by either party. If more than one motion was filed, please limit your analysis to what you believe was the most important motion. It should state the purpose of that motion and how that motion affected the case. Stage Seven, “Trial or Settlement”, should describe the trial or settlement agreement. If a trial was held, describe whether it was a bench or jury. Please state what was the ultimate judgement and the dollar or relief that was awarded, if any. If there was a settlement, state the settlement and why the parties settled.Finally, your case analysis should have a conclusion. In the conclusion, state how this could or did impact “Future Business Decisions” by your company.
