Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection has become an issue of concern worldwide. It is a
blood-borne virus that majorly infects cells and the liver. It has been referred to as a liver
disease, but it typically means inflammation of the liver. However, it affects some other parts of
the body such as; the brain, immune, lymphatic and digestive systems. The disease is an RNA
virus which mutates more than DNA virus. It, therefore, makes it more difficult for the body’s
immune system to locate and fight against it.
