Description
The structural elements in A Midsummer Night’s dream
In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the situation of the lovers is resolved in Act IV with Act V devoted to the play-within-a-play of Pyramus and Thisbe. This represents a departure from the five-act structure. Why do you think Shakespeare focuses on the play-within-a-play rather than continuing to concentrate on the situation of the Athenian lovers or Oberon and Titania? How does the play-within-a-play and the good-natured humor of it summarize and resolve the issues presented in A Midsummer Night’s Dream?
Your initial post should be at least 200 words in length, excluding any quotes from the play you may use. However, please be sure to support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references according to APA style.
