The effects of premature birth on the developing infant
One of the main causes of death in infants as a newborn is the premature birth. Due to the
increasing rate of premature birth, the treatments and concern for preterm babies have widely
increased the rate of survival for even the smallest infants.
It’s not only the positive part of survival that makes it a success. Infants who are born
before 9 months are at a risk of death due to the short and long term effects of the preterm birth.
Most of the babies born in a preterm birth era are vulnerable to most of the health problems and
can face serious health problems in future. In even babies born in three to seven weeks early can
face the effects of preterm birth which may be feeding difficulties, breathing and respiratory
problems and also they can have brain effects and functioning.
