Earl S. Richardson and her career in higher education
Earl S. Richardson, the president of Morgan State University, Baltimore, was born in
Westover, Maryland. In her early life, she attended the Somerset County public schools to pursue
her elementary education. Later on, she joined Maryland State College presently known as the
University of Maryland Eastern Shore. After completion of her college education, she was lucky
to join the United States Air Force as an officer. After working in the military for several years,
Earl enrolled for postgraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where she attained the
masters and doctorate degrees. After her post-graduate studies, she took a career in higher
