The Trans-Atlantic slave trade can be best understood using a combination of expert-theories,
graphic history and historical context into the institution of slavery.
Inhuman Traffick has been categorized as a comic book that addresses the transatlantic
trade. It is a first time story of the events regarding the enslavement and freedom which took
place in the Atlantic World. The book, written by Blaufarb and Clarke begins with the 1892
events of the west coast in Africa. First, Blaufarb and Clarke offers a recapture of Neirsee, which
is a slave ship that had been previously taken by the British Navy in a bid to end inhuman
traffick. The book progresses and ends with the liberation of African passengers that had been
sold to slavery, particularly in the French Caribbean. The book offers the reader a human feel
regarding the history of the trade and the efforts that were taken to suppress the vice. One of the
aspects addressed in the Inhuman Traffick The International Struggle against the Transatlantic
Slave Trade: A Graphic History, is the tragic history of the thematic and geographical contexts
of the areas that the trade took place including Africa, Europe, Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean.
The story in the book is situated in familial, diplomatic, social, and economic military spheres.
One of the advantages of Inhuman Traffick is that it is an example of how history is done by
