Description

Your sister owns a small clothing store. During a conversation at a family dinner, she mentions her frustration with having to manually track and reorder high demand items. She would like an automated system but has a very small budget.

Write a 4-5 page paper in which you create a plan for a low-cost automated inventory system in which you:

  • Describe all the necessary equipment.
  • Explain the costs involved in the creation of the system.
  • Describe the ongoing maintenance that will be required.
  • Provide a workflow diagram in Visio or equivalent software to illustrate how the system will work.

Be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
  • Include charts or diagrams created in Excel, Visio, MS Project, or one of their equivalents such as Open Project, Dia, and OpenOffice. The completed diagrams/charts must be imported into the Word document before the paper is submitted.

    Inventory Management Systems
    Abstract
The present essay is a description of an Inventory Management System. The basic concept
of the system is the capacity to track and reorder high demand sales in a small clothing store. The
additional features will be useful for interpreting data. The Inventory Management System will
use a client-server model that will be connected to a database with a capacity to connect various
stores and warehouses. The implication is that it will allow expansion in the future while at the
same time supporting the current small business. The core features of the system and the final
framework will be finished within 2 weeks and 5 weeks for implementing more features and
    testing.
    Necessary Equipment
The Inventory Management System will be a real-time inventory database that will have
the capacity to connect various stores. This can be useful in tracking inventory in a single store
while at the same time being capable of managing the distributions of stock between various
branches in case of expansion in the future. However, the system will merely record sales and
restock data and offer the owner notification of low stock in any location through electronic
messaging at specific intervals (Coronel, & Morris, 2016). The aim is to minimize the strain of
tracking orders manually. Some of the other features that the system will have include the
capacity to generate sales reports for management to interpret. The system will also provide
solutions for confirming inventory at the store and correcting quantities of stock.
