Description

Wireless Topology Paper: Wireless communication, generally, useless three configuration topologies (1) point to point; (2) point to multipoint; and (3) multi-point to point. In this paper, (a) define each topology, (b) provide a scenario for using each topology, and (c) identify at least one disadvantage of using each topology.

Basically, a wireless topology can be termed as a network setup that uses wireless
devices; as opposed to the other classical network topologies where cables are used as the main
medium of networking, wireless topologies uses air as the medium of networking; every sending
and receiving data in wireless topologies travel through the air. Wireless topologies consist of a
central point known as the access point where all other client computers connect from; the access
point also serves as the medium for interconnectivity among the client computers and sometimes
interconnects the wired as well as the wireless networks (Tree, 2014).
Point to point topology also abbreviated PPP is one of the most common types of wide
area networks, they are mainly used when connecting local area networks to their service
provider WANs, as well as connecting Local area network segments within a company’s
network. Sometimes it is referred to as leased line or serial connection simply because its lines
are usually leased from the carrier and dedicated for the leasing organization. A good example of
