Description

course reading-Wittmer, D. S., & Petersen, S. H. (2018). Infant and toddler development and responsive program planning: A relationship-based approach (4th ed.). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson.

Quality programs for infants and toddlers recognize the complex interactions between young children and their supportive systems, which may include family, culture, neighborhood, community, and society. Review page 12 of your course text and then explain how the bioecological and transactional theories apply to young children. Provide at least two examples of how a young child and his or her supportive system influence one another.

Pages 36-46 of your course text provide an overview of several different family structures. Divorce-identify protective and risk factors that may be associated with the structure divorce. Then, based on pages 5–8 of the article "Family Resiliency: Building Strengths to Meet Life's Challenges" identify three strategies child development professionals can use to cultivate family strengths and support resiliency for the family structure you selected.

Parent education and family support programs are likely to share many quality factors, but may differ in terms of who is targeted and program content. Review pages 44-46 of your course text; consider the purposes of parent education and family support programs. Then, summarize at least two similarities and two differences between these kinds of programs.

effectively analyze the relationship between young children and their respective supportive
systems. These models include bio-ecological and transactional theories. Both models assert that
a child exists in an intricate system of elements, which can shape the development of the child.
The bioecological model is an extension of Bronfenbrenner’s original model, ecological
systems model. This model outlines how the environment, as well as the genes of a child, affects
the child’s development. Typically, the bio ecological model cites the interactions between
children and their environment, classified into several systems, influence the development over
time. These systems are;
1. The micro system-this system addresses the children and the characteristics they bring
with them to the world. Additionally, the micro system entails interpersonal relations and
the immediate environment (Wittmer, Petersen, 2018).
2. Meso system-this entails the immediate environment in which the child lives. It entails
the relationship between the child and the players in the microsystems such as the nuclear
family members.
3. Exo system-this system is the environment in which the child lives and includes the
community members, the school children, and teachers as well as th...
