Who are the primary people involved?
Initially, California only had around 14, 000 Native Americans. The discovery of gold
deposit set of one of the most significant migration patterns of the 19th century. “Gold hunters”
from all around the world rushed in to tap into the discovered gold deposits with the hope that
they were going to gain from it richly. It is approximated that around ninety thousand people
arrived in California in search of gold. These individuals were regarded as the forty-niners as the
sudden migration impacted significantly on the year 1849. While some of these groups of “fortyniners” were Americans, the surprising aspect was that the majority came from as far as
Australia, Mexico, China and far-off Europe. It was a gold rush that attracted persons from all
around the globe.
