Book Report Please read a book of your choice. As you are reading think about the key ideas in the story. Also think about some the concepts that make the story interesting such as character traits, predicting, plot, sequence of events, etc. When you are finished reading your book, please write/design a book ‘report.’ This report can be a written one-page (typed) report about your book OR you can be creative and choose one of the following to present your book with: 1) Write a poem or song about your book. 2) Write a one-person play about your book. 3) Create a poster with pictures and words that highlights key events in your book. 4) Design a PowerPoint presentation about your book. 5) Make a mini-book that covers key elements of the story. 6) Make a movie script about the book. 7) Create a clay poster/diorama about your book. 8) If you have another idea, please talk to me about it. Please feel free to be creative. However, your ‘report’ needs to include the following: • • • • • Your name. Title of the book. Author of the book. A description of the plot of the story. Tell me what happened (key events) that led to the problem/solution of the storyline. Information about the main character(s) of the story. Tell me about the character(s) traits and how the character added to your understanding of the story.

Rapunzel
Book Summary

• Rapunzel is a story of love between a young prince and a girl
with long, blond hair that conquered all of the Witch’s evil
intentions. They were persistent in their intentions on being
happy together, and the Witch was their biggest obstacle.

• At the beginning of the story we are introduced to a couple who
are childless, but long for a child. They live in a house which overlooks

a delightful garden in which rampion (a wildflower which used to be
developed as a palatable vegetable) develops in abundance. Be that as it
may, the man and his wife are not permitted to go into the garden, which
has a place with a fiendish witch.

• One day, however, the wife is overwhelmed by her yearning for a rampion, so her husband sneaks
into the garden and takes a few, which his wife excitedly eats. The husband goes to bring some
more, but is caught in the act by the witch, who debilitates to rebuff him. The spouse argues for
leniency, so the witch says that in the event that he guarantees to give his first-conceived child to
her, she will give them a chance to eat as much rampion from her garden as they wish. The spouse

reluctantly concur. One day, the married couple become parents, and the witch shows up and takes
the child, in keeping with their agreement.

• The witch names the child Rapunzel (an option name for rampion), and locks

away the young lady in a tower in the timberland. The tower has no entryway and
just a window at the best; at whatever point the witch wishes to enter the tower,
she remains at the base and says, 'Rapunzel, Rapunzel! Let down your hair!'
Rapunzel at that point drops her long hair out of the window and down to the
ground, and the witch uses this to ascend into the tower.
