Week 5 – 2 DQs
Week 5 - DQ 1 In Module 4, we considered Mary's interest in doing a study to see if learning of 6th graders on a math lesson is affected by background noise level. There, she was planning to use two noise conditions and then analyze her outcomes using a t-test for independent groups. Describe the study Mary might plan where she would use a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for independent groups instead of a t-test to study differences between noise levels. What is her independent variable here? Describe the conditions she could create for this study. What is her dependent variable? Describe a way to measure the DV so that each participant would have one score at the end that would be on a continuous scale of measurement. Support your responses. | 6.0 |
Week 5 - DQ 2 Consider Mary's study of whether the learning of 6th graders on a math lesson is affected by background noise level. Describe the pros and cons of Mary using a repeated measures design for this study. What would you probably choose to do? Support your responses. |

Week 5 - DQ 1
In most of the case, the performance of hypothesis test is actually for the testing asset. However,
by following what Mary is trying to do here is evaluating the learning backdrop stage
consequence of the 6th graders on the lesson of math. Conducting the hypothesis is mainly to
observe whether there is any effect that is available in the performance that is caused by
background noise level. However, here the background noise level is the independent variable
while on the other side performance is the dependent variable. However, it is clear that the oneway ANOVA in most of the cases needs only single or one independent variable that contains at
least three levels. Because Mary is interested in the one-way analysis of her performance
(ANOVA), she is therefore responsible to take into consideration at least three stages of
background noise stage (Freeman, & Campbell, 2007).
However, the conditions that Mary would actually creat...
