Each of us has our own, unique worldview, which is largely shaped by our specific biographical facts and personal histories. We can use these facts and histories to better contextualize our lives against the backdrop of the society in which we live. With the goal of acknowledging the particular perspectives that you may bring/contribute to this class, describe some of the biographical facts and significant aspects of your personal history that would help someone to understand you. Make sure to mention your significant “social corners” in life (i.e. age group, educational level, family background, ethnicity, employment/occupation.).
Make sure that your four-paragraph (intro paragraph, two body paragraphs, and conclusion paragraph) essay is typewritten, double-spaced, and in 12-pt. font (preferably Times New Roman). Make sure you have a clear thesis statement in your introduction paragraph, and clear topic sentences in your two body paragraphs. Before you hand in your work, carefully check for clarity, spelling, and grammar. Also, be sure you have addressed the above-stated narrative requirements. Although all of your writing assignments are only four paragraphs, they should be “big, fat, juicy” paragraphs – laden with elaboration and description.

More often than not, we make assume that the outcome of our lives is dependent on our actions only.
Our personality, interests, preferences, decisions, opinions and frustrations are as dictated by our
individuality as they are determined by our background and experiences. Sometimes, we are conscious
about this influence. For example, when speaking about our parents, we can recognize the direct
intervention they have had with our formation. When it comes to other, subtler, spheres of societal
