presentation of the adult client? (4 points)
The Whitbourne's Identity Theory explains the current presentation of the adult couple. This is
because both the man and woman have built conceptions of how their lives should proceed. They
both have future expectations or a game plan for their lives; the woman who now owns a
successful real estate firm thinks it time to work on the next phase in life, which is having a
baby, while a man thinks they should have the baby later in life.
The McAdams theory also explains the current presentation of the adult couple. It contends that
individuals create a life story that is an internalized narrative with a start, middle, and expected
ending. An adult reformulates that life story all through adulthood. The story reflects feelings,
inspirations, convictions, qualities and objectives to set the context of his or her conduct. In this
