Union. Make sure to use enough details to support your answers
The Korean War occurred in 1950 when the United States of America acted to protect the
South Koreans (Kirk 15). The North Koreans had attacked the South Koreans. Several events led
to the Korean War like the division between the south and the North Korea. In addition, the
soviets as well as the Americans withdrew their military, which led to a pro-Soviet government.
Other events include the Invasion of Inchon by the U.S. troops and the call for UN intervention
(Kirk 104).
Events that led to the Cuban crises include the taking of power by Fidel Castro from
General Batista. Another event was the deal that was signed by Castro and Nikita (Kirk 87).
They signed a contract that indicated that USSR were to exchange the communist support with 1
million tons of sugar.
All these events affected the relationship between Soviet Union and America a great deal.
The division between the North and the South Korea led to soviets maintaining their military
presence in the Northern part while the Americans maintained the southern parts. In addition, the
US won the agreement to support South Korea since the Soviet was absent from the Security
Council (Kirk 147).
