Introduction
Homelessness is a major challenge for both the developed and developing countries
across the globe. According to the World Banks report in 2008, 50% of the world populations are
town dwellers without concrete homes, this was the highest record ever, worst of all, and this is
estimated to rise to 70% by the year 2050. Different countries have accepted the challenge and
are working towards finding an amicable solution that will completely end the problem. For
instance, Malaysia development comes with a program that would ensure there is a balance in
the rural-urban population in a bid to reduce over concentration in towns. The action by the
Malaysian parliament was under the Destitute Personal Act of 1977 which provided for both the
voluntary and the involuntary admission to what they termed the welfare home and further
restricting it to the extent of arresting a dispute person. Nonetheless, the policy of the
homelessness is from a broader point of view of population increase, and the over flooding of the
urban population does not exist. This article, therefore, studies the general perspective in the
United States and the world as a whole. Preliminary findings have shown that the problem is
majorly caused by the influx of people in the urban areas in search of jobs and other greener
pastures leaving the agricultural and other resources rich rural. In the United States, there are lots
of difficulties surrounding the issue of homelessness which are further emphasized by the use of
tabulation and the great inner modeling to come up with the actual relationship existing between
the key demographic variables and the primary causes of homelessness as well as the assessment
of other types of housing.
