COMMENT ON COMMENT #1 Coca-Cola drinks remains one of my favorite brand in the carbonated soft drink industry. In my opinion, nothing beats the taste of Coca-Cola drinks as they are manufactured to go with everything. The taste and formula used to produce Coca-Cola drinks have remained unchanged since it was launched, which has been over 129 years. The Company is not only the biggest selling and most popular soft drink brand in the U.S market, but also is one of the most recognizable brand globally and in history. However, the company’s products faces stiff competition from rival companies such as PepsiCo and Nestlé. According to Google Trend, Coca-Cola has the highest global search rate compared to PepsiCo and Nestlé. Particularly, Coca-Cola recorded an average of 57% interest buzz over the last 1 year with the highest record of 91% on December 2016 globally. On the other hand, PepsiCo and Nestlé recorded an average search rate of 16% and 19% over the last 1 year respectively. The trend data suggests that Coco-Cola brand has the highest global popularity due to its wider and numerous interest search on the internet. A higher search interest implies that the company’s products and its related activities have created a palpable “Word of Mouth” (WOM) frenzy or media buzz, which is vital in boosting its brand (Drexel University, 2017). In a marketing perspective, the trend reveals that Coca-Cola products are doing better than those of its competitors both locally and globally. In other words, the higher the interest searches, the higher the customers’ preference to the products (Ho, 2017). PepsiCo recorded the lowest interest searches of 16% compared to Coca-Cola and Nestlé, with its highest percentage search of 100% coming on April, 8, 2017. The low percentage on interest search suggests that PepsiCo might have experienced low earnings in the last 1 year, and this could be attributed to the stiff competition from valuable and preferable brand like Coca-Cola. Another reason for the slump could be its low penetration outside America as the Google Trend indicated that PepsiCo recorded the more searches in the U.S than in any other regions around the world (Drexel University, 2017). The 100% search record on April was as a result of the controversial ad that was prompted by a swift consumer backlash against their products. The contentious ad featured the model and television personality Kendall Jenner, which saw the company pulling it down and issuing an immediate apology. However, since the ad was aired, the company is now showing early signs of a slow recovery (Ho, 2017). A survey revealed that adult consumers would consider purchasing Pepsi anytime they would want to buy a carbonated soft drink. COMMENT ON COMMENT #2 The companies that I analyzed their trends are Samsung, Apple, and Intel. These three companies have almost had a similar trend for the past 10 years. Their trends have been fluctuating in the recent years. I think this is caused by changing consumer preferences and tastes. The strategies I would recommend for my favorite brand company to increase its market trends include online shopping, social media, marketing to the senior population and environmental awareness. Introducing online shopping through the creation of websites where customers can purchase their products will increase the sales for the company. The website should include customer support where customers can seek help. The company should also make use of social media to reach their target market. Social media is the all reaching platform where most people spend most of their time. The company should use sites like facebook and twitter to advertise their sales, new product lines and free shipping (Cathcart, 2015). Advertising using social media is inexpensive and easy. Also, offering products that are made of materials that can be recycled would make the customers feel good about their purchases and hence buy more. The company should show that it’s concerned about keeping the environment safe.

Microsoft Windows operating system is my favorite operating system. Microsoft
cooperation has released several versions of the operating system since it was founded. The
reason why Microsoft windows operating will always be the number one choice when it comes
to operating is because of its easiness of use of its operating systems. However, the Microsoft
windows operating system faces stiff competition from the MacOS and Linux operating system.
According to Google trend, the Microsoft windows operating system enjoys the largest
downloads and installation worldwide. However, the Operating system saw the number of users
using Microsoft decline significantly in 2012 after windows 8 was launched since it had many
errors (Investopedia, n.d). The company, however, enjoyed a significant increase in users again
in May 2015 when windows 10 was launched ((Investopedia, n.d). Windows 10 is easy to use
and has enhanced security features compared to previous windows versions. The windows 10
also comes with inbuilt drivers which is an advantage for many users since they don't have to
look for drivers after installing the operating system.
One of the top competitors for Microsoft windows operating system is the MacOS from
Apple. MacOS witnessed an increase in the number of downloads when Microsoft windows 8
