Description

I have to make overall a job resume and cover. It's a couple part assignment but for now all I need is someone to fill up this spreadsheet for me with 20 different skills, evidence of how you got it, etc. I uploaded a sample and a blank one. Obviously don't copy the sample but get an idea from it. About myself I am an economics major and worked at Best Buy to help you focus on what to write about.

I also need to find like a job ad preferably in phoenix or Chicago an intern or career. that would hire me with those type of skills and I will be basically applying for that and that would be part of my resume and cover letter that I will post up separately. Let me know if you have any questions.

(What can you refer to that exemplifies this skill or makes the skill concrete for a reader?) Communication- I develped this skill by Public Speaking working at a dry cleaners and serving a religious mission. Recalling Dry Cleaners and Information Clerical Job Having to talk with people on a daily bases. Looking over information repeatedly has helped me remember information On a daily basis I had to talk about the one of the most uncomfortable things for people. Religion. For my job as a clerk for an oral surgeon sometimes I make reminder phone calls to patients. I have memorized the necessary steps for a patient to prepare for the surgery. Time Dry Cleaners, Clerical Having to complete For each job I have had certain Management Job, Mission tasks by certain deadlines that must be met and I do dedlines. well underpressure. Everyday at the dry cleaners clothes had to be organized by a certain time and I would make sure that was accomplished. Proposing Ideas Clerical Job Offering suggestions I have come across ways to make the office run more efficent and have proposed those ideas to the office manager which have been adopted. Running Religious Mission I have had to run For 18 months I was in charge of Meetings many meetings. weekly meetings. These would include reporting the previous weeks weekly totals and making plans for improving productivity. Communication- Dry Cleaners In order to really help In the dry cleaners I had to listen to Listening someone you have to customers and see how I could best listen. serve them. I had to be able to understand if they had a genuine complaint or if they were trying to get something for free. Enduring Long Dry Cleaners and Hours Religious Mission Working 12 or more long hour days. There were days at the dry cleaners when I was the only one who could cover a shift and that would require me to work for 12 hours. On my mission I was constantly busy for 16 hours a day constantly. Encouraging Others Dry Cleaners and Religious Mission Continualy trying to lift others up. People who would start work at the dry cleaners would get discouraged when they would make a mistake and mess up an order. I would often let them know that they would get the hang of it and share an experience I had of messing up. On my mission there were a few times some volunteers considered giving up but I helped them stick it out through their struggles. Recomending Courses of Action Religious Mission After each week of performance making suggestions for change There came a point where I was serving in a position that gave me opportunities to advise the President of our mission. We would review the previous weeks and months and I would recommend how I thought we could improve. Communication- Clerical Job Written Keeping Track of Daily I have to keep track of which Tasks patients I attach files to. I also have to leave memos to the other office staff about which patients procedures have tx authorization or have been denied. Stress Management Dry Cleaners, Clerical Dealing with Daily Job, Mission pressures With the dry cleaners there was a lot of stress to make sure the customer was happy. In the clerical job if I attach the wrong file to the wrong patient by mistake people might get the wrong treatment. On the mission there was pressure to meet certain goals each week. Instead of letting those things get to me, I used them to make sure i did quality work. Goal Setting Dry Cleaners, Clerical Reaching quotas and Job, Mission personal goals. The key to reaching these goals was time management and determination. At the dry cleaners it was the goal to have everything organized by 8pm. With the Clerical job I set my own goals with how many items I want to have scanned and organized in a day. On my mission I would set goals like how many lessons we would teach in a week. On my mission it was my responsibility for a time to interview people who wanted to join our church. There were times when customers would argue about a price and I would have to settle the conflict. The customer would feel that they should receive a discount for something and I would have to make the final decision about how it would be settled. Our boss would ask us why we were not able to do certain things during the work day and I would be able to pinpoint out problems amoung the other workers. It was apparent that people spent too much time on their phones and not enough time working on their assignments. Communication- Mission Conducting Interviews Resolving Conflicts Dry Cleaners Defining a Problem Dry Cleaners I practiced good eye contact, clear speaking and encouraging others Remaining calm and clear headed Looking for ways to improve employee productivity. Handling Complaints Dry Cleaners Advising People Dry Cleaners and Mission Delegating Responsibility Dry Cleaners and Mission Enforcing Rules Dry Cleaners and and Mission Regulations Taking oportunities to When a customer came in, it was address disgruntled very obvious when they were not customers. happy about something. There were many times in which I would go out of my way to personaly see that customer. I would listen to the complaint and offer any solution possible. The key was remaining calm under the pressure even if they were not so composed Training new people In both of these positions I had opportunities to train new workers/volunteers. People need to hear that they are doing a good job while also hearing about how they can improve. Allowing others to act While training someone it was even with possibility important to have the new person of failure take on responsibility as quickly as possible. As I delegated responsibility they felt as if they were a large part of the organization. Also as responsibility was delegated, productivity was able to increase. I did not allow others With work or with volunteering to hide their wrong there are certain rules set forward. doings. The things that keep you safe physically or legally can not be discounted. I made sure that others knew that I would not tolerate people breaking rules. Organizing Files Clerical Job I attach a lot of files to patients charts. While working for an oral surgeon's office I have to organize a lot of paperwork. These include tax information, hospital charts, notes by the doctor and ect. They must be put into the proper file or they could be lost forever considering the thousands of patients the doctor sees each year. Communication- Dry Cleaners and Pursuasion Mission Having to repeatively trying to get people to buy something or change. Working at the Dry Cleaners gave me chances to try and convince people to try different services. These services would not only help the customer but also bring more money into the store. On the mission I had to be pursuasive in helping people decide to make changes in their lifestyles. One example was that we helped a women who had been smoking everyday for 25 years quit.
