Interesting Historical Fact

One interesting historical fact is that in 1890, a proposal put forward by Rainey Harper to
come up with an alternative to the mode of learning for those who could not afford to attend
classroom training was laughed at. This happened at Columbia University Correspondence
Department. He referred this as correspondence system of learning but nobody took him
seriously at the time.

This was interesting to me as Rainey could see the possibility of what could come in the future,
yet everyone else failed to understand that the changing environment provides new ways of
tackling challenges every day.

Yes, this was a reputable source as it cited the Handbook of Research on Educational
Communications and Technology.
