The most challenging problem that most organizations face and which leaves most organizations at a disadvantage is the lack of sophisticated ways in which organizations can do analysis and develop unique ways to solve such issues as well as lack of ways to acquire useful information that may help them in developing long term strategic plans instead of jumping from one to another on yearly. Most organizations have strategies that are more of an everyday problem solving strategy which has left many organizations with limited ability to solve the most pressing issues that they are facing. For future success, organizations need to understand that the key is resolving the strategic thinking and problem solving issues that they are facing with their leaders as well as the employees. Background Some organizations are faced with a major shortcoming in terms of having top level officials like CEOs and managers with underdeveloped strategic thinking and problem solving skills. It is important for organizations to fill this gap by addressing this issues mostly in two levels which are, one personal level as well as. Research has shown that when organisations focus on instilling strategic on those two levels in an organisation, they have higher chances of success win it comes to solving other organisational problems they face (Boon, 2011). According to Goldman, Scott, and Follman (2015), historically, in most organizations, there has always been a gap when it comes to strategic thinking. Through organizational trainings and seminars, most organisations can educate their managers, leaders and all level of employees about strategic thinking, its importance to them as individuals as well as to the future success of the organisation. STRATEGIC THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING 3 One study shows that, in an organization, almost 75% of the employees and leaders are responsible for solving problems in the organization and yet most do not have the skills to accomplish this (author, date). It is the important for organizations to fill this gap by creating a problem solving culture in their organisations. On a daily basis, several organizations deal with customer demands, and deadlines on projects delivery which requires them to be able to handle problems proficiently and rapidly. It is the important to make sure that all level employees that will then have them fully equipped knowledge wise with problem solving skills. The outcome for this is usually more productivity, and profits as well as employee motivation and productivity (Marone & Blauth, 2004).
