Ethical Principles and Biblical Teachings
Introduction
In a Christian society, most of the ethical principles are drawn from the biblical
teachings or guided by the teachings. Both the ethical principles and teachings are applied to
ensure that there is respect for humanity, and no harm is caused in practice of each. There are
four fundamental principles of ethics which are the principle of justice, respect for self-rule,
beneficence and not harm. The principles are to protect the interest of more than one party
and the greater interest of the society (Geisler, 2014). Biblical teachings are followed by
Christian to determine their actions and care for human life. They heavily rely on those
teachings in every decision they make and their deeds can be justified by the teaching of the
Bible.
Similarities of ethical principles and biblical teachings
1. Both ethical and the biblical teachings avoid harming individuals and the society.
2. The practice of the two is beneficial to all the society members or in an organization.
3. Both provide justice to all equally without hurting.
4. Clear definition of ethics respect the self-rule and so do the biblical teachings. They
both point what is wrong and therefore no need of supervision.
Differences of ethical principles and biblical teachings
1. Biblical teachings are based on bible while ethical principles are derived from the
morals.
2. Ethical practices have professional application while biblical teachings are applied by
the believers.

3. Bible teachings influence personal morals where ethic principles try to converge
different morals to the similar objective.
While ethical principles and biblical teachings share similar qualities, they also differ in
specific areas making them unique and valuable.
Ethical principles and biblical teachings have similar qualities in term of beneficially,
intentions, self-rule and application of justice (Grojean et al., 2014). Both they have intended
beneficially in practicing. Mostly ethical principles are applied in corporate set up to benefit
the society that the business is operating. Also, bible teachings aim to create a good
relationship with both the Christians and non-Christians.
Also, they provide justice in the society. For instance, corporates require acting
ethically to ensure that the employees, organization and the community they operate receive
justice and benefit from the operations. Biblical teachings provide that Christian mind about
the welfare of people around them. They all ensure that there is no physical or psychological
harm caused by the practice of the teachings and ethics.
Both ensure that there is self-rule in the concerned parties. The bible teachings outline
what one needs to do and what is wrong with the practice. Therefore, there is no need for
preachers to follow on their followers to remind them since the teaching states they ought to
do in different circumstances. Ethical practices in an organization set the boundaries on
which professionals can practice their career. That becomes easy and requires less
supervision since an employee knows to what extent they are supposed to work.
Both ethical practices and biblical teachings intend to reduce or cause no harm. In an
organization set up the ethical practices ensure that there is no conflict of workers since they

know that is required of them. Biblical teachings preach peace that Christian is supposed to
spread to even non-believers.
On the other hand, the differences between ethical principles and biblical teachings
cannot be overshadowed by the similarities. ...
