To begin with, cultural detective lens refers to the values which tend to represent the
main values of a certain society or culture in a given state. They are a group of selections of very
crucial and informative values that are commonly misunderstood by individuals from a different
society or culture of a given state.
All the values are basically defined in some brief or few words, and then we come up
with examples that explain how the said values affect our everyday behavior. Cultural detectives
lens can be compared among different countries. In this case we want focus on two countries
namely; US American cultural lens and Indian cultural lens ("The Origins of the American
Detective Story; Brown Gumshoes: Detective Fiction and the Search for Chicana (o) Identity;

The first value is individualism. This basically means the interdependence the country
holds among its citizens. In this sense, the citizens are supposed to look after the extend family
and themselves only. In collectivism countries, citizens belong to groups that take responsibility
of themselves. In collectivism, the individuals’ life belongs to a certain group which one is part
of. An individual is only obligated to sacrifice ambitions and values for the betterment of the
group.
USA and India share this value of individualism. In USA, a person has his own life, body
and mind. This creates a lot of innovation among the individuals since it’s led to things like the
agricultural revolutions, necessities which are more affordable and inventions. All could not have
been so possible if people were not motivated to be able to think critically and independently be
able to come up with ideas that help them create their own wealth. Liberty justice for all in

America emphasizes for same rights in all ways of the American government and the society. In
the societies, people are supposed to look for themselves without forgetting their extended
families as well. Basically they don’t rely too much on the support from the state. Convenience

In the United States, the geographical mobility is very high when measured in degrees.
The Americans also intermingle and do business with people, even with people whom they don’t
