Offender Crummey is being released from a minimum security facility next month and has been assigned to your caseload. Your group represents the offender’s treatment team upon release. Review the presentence investigation (PSI). As a team, research the community resources and programs available for this offender, and assess his home plan. Develop a detailed treatment plan with measurable goals and objectives. Remember that goals are broader and more long-term, while objectives are the smaller steps that clients take to meet the overall goal.
Write a paper of 4-6 pages that addresses the following:
- What areas does the offender need to address to be successful upon re-entry? Make sure that the goals you develop for him can be measured.
- What community resources and programs will you draw on for this offender?
- Is his home plan appropriate to ensure a successful re-entry? Identify any changes that you would require before approving it.

What areas does the offender need to address to be successful upon re-entry? Make sure
that the goals you develop for him can be measured.
Reentry planning involves preparing offenders to exit prisons and end enter back into the
community successfully. For this process to be successful some issues must be addressed first.
These issues include the following; the offender must first address the issue of housing. Also, he
must find a legal job. This would keep him busy and provide money for his expenditure and also
help him to overcome crime temptations. The offender must keep himself away from drug abuse,
this would involve counseling and staying away from drug abusers. Also, the offender must aim
at increasing his awareness, try to do good always, by doing this it helps the offender to relate
well with the community. He should also aim at building a good reputation in the community.
The community always has a bad attitude to ex-offenders and thus it is the work of the offender
to prove himself as a good person. He is supposed to determine all the barriers for a successful
reentry into the community and find their solutions (Lindquist, Willison, Walters, & Lattimore,
2017).
