between incomes individuals acquire in relation to happiness attained. Findings show that what
matters a lot are not the big salaries but how to spend them. The old outdated cliché that money
cannot buy happiness is factual, and happiness can only be found within and without by
cultivating the performance attitude (Haidt, 53). Will people be happy if they meet their basic
need? In my opinion, meeting basic needs raises a significant aspect of happiness than
accumulating wealth. Among the core, individual needs are; physical survival needs, safety
needs, love and belonging needs, self-fulfillment, and self-esteem needs. Despite our different
races and behavioral cultures, basic needs are similar and satisfying. These paper addresses
arguments are supporting that people will gain happiness in meeting their basic needs in
