In the beginning of this bible verse, the Lord promised Abraham to give him a nation of
his own in which his family and descendants will live happily. This shows how much the Lord
valued Abraham because out of everyone, he chose Abraham for the gift of his own nation of
Canaan. God wanted his family to thrive and procreate. Abraham was probably very conflicted
at first, though, because the Lord wanted him to leave his father's family in order for him to get
his gift. It's not an easy task for anyone to leave their beloved family. He ended up trusting that
the Lord will provide him a far better life so he agreed to go to Canaan. The Lord told Abraham
that anyone who goes against him will be punished, but he trusted Abraham too much. At the
beginning, Abraham was extremely loyal to God by completely devoting his attention to him, but
then Abraham kept it a secret from everyone that beautiful Sarai was his wife, and this caused
