Terrorism is unlawful violence against innocent and peaceful citizens and property
destruction. Terrorism originated in the 18th century, at the time of French revolution. It's used
by non-state groups and the government to denounce the opposition groups. In this paper, our
primary focus is to understand terrorism, how it has evolved, why it's carried out and how
technology has contributed to its rise over the past years.
Terrorism has been on the rise for the past few years due to various reasons. One of the
reasons is politics. Lack of inclusiveness of politics in a state against grievances of a particular
political order might lead to the formation of more terrorist groups, where terrorists express their
frustrations from political failures. Socio-economic status is also another reason contributing to
rising of terrorism (Bird, Blomberg, & Hess, 2008). This results to the sense of lacking upward
