Geraldine Harris was on 26 April 1978 arrested by officers from the Canton Police
Department and taken to the police station. She sat on the floor of the patrol wagon as she
was relayed to the police station. Upon arrival, she was found seated there, and the
officers enquired if she required medical attention. Her response was incoherent. While
inside the station and in the presence of the officers, she fell twice on to the floor and the
officers left leaving her lying on the floor unconcerned by her situation. No medical
attention was granted to her. One hour later, she was released, and her family provided an
ambulance that was used to ferry her to a nearby hospital. The doc...
