In the beginning of the narrative, Edward is seen driving about 450 miles to Moab, Utah
from the city of Albuquerque in New Mexico. Abbey had been employed by the State Park
Service and he drives to report for the first day of his obligation at the headquarters situated in
the northern part of Moab. Edward meets the park administrator and chief steward. They
provided him with coffee and then directed him to his place of work, a little promo house away
in the wilderness of the National Monument.
It was already at night by the time Edward drives his van to the trailer house. A little
wooden symbol guided him off the main road and then onto a coarse dirt pathway. A rainstorm
from the north builds with the weeping wind as Abbey passes through the rock-strewn, windy
road uphill to the promo house approximately nine miles away. He comes ahead of a waterless
wash crossing with a symbol that cautions not to traverse through. Edward spends about a sixmonth in the Arches State Monument in the vicinity of Moab, Utah, operating as a transitory
park warden. Abbey is the mere park ranger, that he prefers and was seen Solitude concur with
him, as performed oftentimes extremely quiet desert.
A passionate love of scenery, Edward writes about the fauna and flora in a poetic
approach. He was familiar with all names of animals and the plants, along with much of conduct
