Introduction
Child abuse is a major social problem with the long-term effect on the physiological,
psychological, and mental development of the victim during childhood and adulthood. While the
physical and sexual abuse of children has formed the focus of social advocacy groups and
policymakers in different nations, ending the prevalence of the problem has become difficult
because of several factors including a lack of report by victims and cultural practices that
encourage the practice. The public relations campaign is working and encourages the abusers and
abused to end the vicious cycle of abuse by seeking help or reporting the incident. Save the
Children, Mexico authored this advertisement as a public enlightenment material to highlight the
long-term effects of child abuse on the abused and abuser. It is a graphic representation of how
physical abuse experienced during childhood manifests in adulthood if the individual fails to
seek help promptly (Zhang). Although the material is designed to show the ills of the behavior, it
