Motivation is a driving force which guides human behaviors. In our daily activities,
various factors influence motivation such as interest, desire, and ambition. For a long time, it is
noted that employees who are motivated to work productively and diligently at their workplace
are a lot more creative and productive. Importantly, a motivated employee finds their working
time more enjoyable and less stressful. Therefore, organization management should try
everything possible to motivate their workers. In the business world, there has been a lot of

developed motivational theories since many employers want to understand how to control human
behaviors adequately. Successively, organization management has a critical role in motivating
their employees. In this case, our senior company manager wants to understand more about
motivational theories to adopt the best appropriate approach to improve our workplace. Although
there are many motivational theories, in this paper, we will focus on Frederick Taylor’s theory,
mayo’s theory of human relations and Herzberg’s theory (Madsen, 2000).
