Introduction
In aspects such as painting, music, photography, sculpting and even in movies, art
dominates. Art is a form of expression, the transformation of the imaginations of an artist and a
means of showcasing the innovations of an artist to the society. The imaginations expressed in art
helps people to conceptualize the honor, diversity, and common issues that prevail in the world.
The age of Gilded is stipulated as a time before the Great Depression where the emerging art had
challenges in expanding in cities of America (Rodgers, 2011). The art during this time was
characterized by photography, Abstraction, film, Abstract Expressionism among other forms. It
largely involved a way of people escaping their situations and enjoying the surrounding world.
A critical analysis of the reflection of art in our lives, the impacts that it has brought to the
American society, the changes and development over the last century and an opinion of how art is
important in our lives has been explored in this discussion.
A Reflection of Art in the Society
There is a reflection of the art developed by Gilded Age in our society. This kind of art
influenced the American History through the manifestation of the growth in the west,
industrialization and the inventions that were experienced in the American cities. The art is
reflected in the transformation of the culture and in different social status. An example is the
painting which was made during the Gilded Age by Winslow Homer, which is referred to as, ‘’The
Morning Bell (1871).’’ This painting depicts a factory. From the painting, there is a woman
walking on a bridge looking downwards. The painting is a manifestation of industrial labor in
