OVARIAN TUMORS
• Ovaries are pluripotential.
• Ovarian tumors can be classified into nonneoplastic and neoplastic.
• Neoplastic tumors are either benign or
malignant.
Non-neoplastic disorders of the
ovary (physiological cysts)
• Physiologic enlargement of the ovary
which are large versions of the cysts which
form during the normal ovarian cycle. They
are mostly asymptomatic and are
incidental findings at pelvic examination or

•
Oral contraceptive pills may be used to suppress ovarian function

Non-neoplastic disorders of the
ovary (physiological cysts)
