The duty to rescue is regarded as one of the functions found in the Law of Tort. The
concept will usually involve a person who will be liable for he/she failed to rescue another in
a peril situation. For a person to be held accountable the life of the other person must be in
peril, and the liable person would have failed to save the person from the dire situation. The
duty to rescue will often arise in certain circumstances. For example, the parent will have to
perform this duty the children lives are in peril. The employers will also be obligated to
rescue their employees.
With the rise of cases which have been caught on Facebook live, arguments have been
presented in regards to whether Facebook is obligated to rescue a crime victim if the crime is
being streamed through the platform. Facebook cannot be described as a person who can be
held liable for any crimes done. It is a media platform which will be used by most of the
generation today. However, the question of whether Facebook has any duty when it comes to
the rescue of a person whose life is in peril will fall on the people who work with the
Platform. The law requires that the people who will be obligated to perform the duty will be
people who have undergone training on emergency and the enforcement of the law. So
legally, Facebook will not be compelled to perform the duty to rescue a person's life which is
