Google Company is a technology company that is based in the United States and offers
internet service and products such as online advertising, software and hardware development
internet searching and cloud computing. It has operations around the world with a large customer
base due to the importance of the internet in collecting information. Any information needed can
be gotten from the internet. Google has the following compensation strategies. It offers free food
which includes all three meals and snacks to its employees within the company ensuring they do
not need to move from the premises. It provides massages to relax its staff and keep them
healthy, offers trips to places where the employees can enjoy visiting such as Las Vegas Hawaii
among others. It provides flexible working schedules allowing them to work for a maximum of
eight hours giving them adequate time to rest. They can work form the convenience of their
homes and don’t have to be within the companies premise. The staff also get health insurance
plans to ensure they don’t miss work due to health issues, paid sick offs and paid holiday leaves
at least once a year. Also, the company pays its staff competitive wages based on the number of
hours worked and bonuses for employees who are productive as a way of motivating them and
creating a competitive environment.
Best practices the company is employing
The company has a well-communicated compensation plan that is well established and
acknowledged by manage dement. The human resource has ensured that the compensation plan
is well delivered to all the employees and there is clarity to provide transparency and eliminate
room for employee exploitation and misunderstandings. Employees understand how the
compensation plan relates to their jobs. Employees are allowed to communicate any information

related to the salary and compensation among themselves and with the management ensuring
they understand why they are renumerated the way they are creating trust with management and
a good working environment (Tiwari, and Saxena, 2012). Another practice is recognition of top
performing employees by the administration. When there are high demands for products and
services in the market, employees are made to work harder and for more extended hours and
more efficiently to meet the high demand. When employees are aware that their efforts will be
recognized and appreciated by management, they go out of their way to achieve the organization.
The significant advantage of this practice is that is id budgeted for and does not cost the
organization a lot of resources.
