Consequences of the Arab Spring
The Arab spring was a transitional period that saw the involved countries change their
way of life, especially their political system and take a new leaf that conformed to modern
political systems in most countries of the world. The need for widespread change in the
countries that remained under leadership systems that did not uphold the rights of humans
was long overdue, and the people had no choice but to take the necessary course of action to
effect the needed change. However, there is no rose without a thorn, and after initiating the
changes, many adverse consequences have been realized. Nevertheless, the golden fruits of
democracy and the upholding of human rights, which were the pillars of the uprising were
yielded. It is therefore critical to evaluate the specific consequences that emanate from the
war and to precisely identify both the pros and cons of the Arab spring. It is prudent to have
an overview of the causes of the Arab Spring for it will give us a basis of evaluating the
consequences of the spring.
