How the employee or supervisor handles this perception will determine how the dispute is resolved. Research an employee dispute from the past 6 months for this assignment. This can be a dispute between a group of employees and management or a dispute between one employee and another.

Conflicts at workplace

Introduction
The issue of having conflicts in the workplace is a common phenomenon in many
organizations. If not carefully and appropriately handled, it may lead to employee dissatisfaction,
poor productivity, bad services to customers, absenteeism from work, stress at work or litigation
because of harassment.
Employees’ conflict
The conflict between employees may arise for reasons like the different working styles
the employees have. Interpersonal conflict or conflict between two individuals is a concern for
many managers because of its frequency (O’Rourke & Collins, 2008). One person might want
work to be done in a certain way, which is the complete opposite of what the other person wants.
An employee might want work to be finished faster, and another wants everyone to participate
even if it will cause delay. Also, there are cases where an employee will depend on others to
have work done. You find without the help of a specific employee or his absenteeism nothing
can be done in the office. Conflicts may also arise due to age differences, backgrounds or gender.
Changing leaders raises disputes between employees because of differences in the styles of
leadership. Leaders have different ways of carrying out their duties and workers prefer a certain
leader over another. Personality clashes also cause conflict among employees. It is because they
have different opinions about something. For example, a team leader scolding a member of the
team for being late because she views it as a sign of laziness and rudeness.
