Religious Fundamentalism is defined as the belief that a religion is superior to any other religion. Therefore their religion is out out the way of scrutiny by others and can be forced upon others without reason and logic. I believe that the spread of religious fundamentalism worldwide can be dangerous. It can be dangerous due to the fact that it can limit the free rights that individuals have. It can be affected by the first amendment that states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." One example that I read online stated that President Woodrow Wilson made a decision to jump into war based on his religion. His presidency was heavily influenced in his career as president. This is just one example of religious fundamentalism.

Fundamentalism in Christianity and Islam are quite different in many ways. Christianity is about about belief where as Islam is about practice. The Bible is believed to be inspired by God. The Qur'an is believed to be one practice of study along with the Sharia which is the Islamic state law. Both of these fundamentalists split their worlds into believers and non believers. Both also reject the separation of church and state. They are also both conservative wings of their religions. One similarity is that Islam and Christianity are all perceived to come from Abraham.
