Question Description

Task 1: 1). Discuss the importance of Job Analysis. 2). Visit Ooredoo Telecom, to conduct the following exercise for the Job that you find interesting. Based on your findings, prepare the following: i) Job Analysis. ii) Job Description. iii) Job Specification.

Task 2: A). Discuss the importance of Performance Management in the Organization. B). Select two employees from two different functions: (Sales, Production, Warehousing, Accounting & Finance, HRD, Quality Assurance, Purchase, Health & Safety, Commercial / Administration, Audit.) You are now required to: i). Identify and write down their objectives. ii). Establish how these objectives meet the criteria of being SMART objectives? iii). Identify and write down the Assessment Standards for their Performance Appraisal. iv). Identify and explain Performance Appraisal Methodology followed.

Task 3: A) Discuss the importance of compensation in the organization. B) As an HR Manager, evaluate the compensation system followed by the organization (for any one) position on following lines:

i). Time Wage Plan and/or Piece Wage Plan. ii). Compensation- Gross Pay/Net Pay/Commission /Bonus/Incentive/Over Time etc. iii). Benefits- Annual Leave/Medical Insurance/Sick Leave/Maternity Leave etc. iv). Evaluate the industry and comment whether the organization is following Lag, Lead or Compete strategy?

Task 4: A). Examine Oman Labor Law and in context of the chosen organisation (Ooredoo Telecom) explain how it achieves the following objectives: i). Worker’s Right to Wages and Leave. ii). Regulating Working Hours. iii). Regulating Working Conditions for Women. iv). Ensuring Industrial Safety. (You are required to quote relevant Article references from Oman Labor Law)
