Preventative screening
Preventive care comprises health services like check-ups, screening and counseling
which used to prevent health problems or detect diseases while still at early stages, and can
easily respond to treatment. A pelvic exam is a physician’s visual and physical evaluation of a
female’s reproductive organs. According to Black( 2013), women should have their first pelvic
exam at the age of twenty-one, unless faced with other health problems that may require it
earlier. A pelvic exam performed due to various reasons including: checking of any abnormal
vaginal discharge, concerns about sexually transmitted diseases, ovarian cancer, cysts, or any
