Introduction
There are several major social institutions in any society especially in the modern society.
The institutions include the family, education, economy, religion, the government, work, and
healthcare. These institutions are essential in the society as they dictate the society’s behaviors
and how individuals relate just by the virtue how the institutions are normatively structured.
They set the freedoms of individuals and limits to the extent the individual can go in enjoying
their freedoms. The paper explores three social institutions namely family, religion and
education.

The film addresses the social institution of marriage. Unlike earlier days like the 1960s,
fewer people in America are choosing marriage. The reason behind this according to the film is
that grown more atypical than it was in the 1960s. The marriage age has risen to 26 for women
