POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Abstract
PTSD is one of the most common psychological disorders, and that often arises from a set of
disturbing memories concerning dreaded events. Its prevalence varies from one group to
another as well as from region to region. Its symptoms are similar to some of the other
psychological disorders and may include anxiety, flashbacks, nightmares, lack of sleep,
adverse emotions, and avoidance. In as much as there lacks a definite understanding of how
PTSD and other psychological and mental disorders occur, it is possible to help the patients
stabilize and manage their conditions through medication and psychotherapies.

the victim may dread and may include terrifying and traumatic events such as accidents, loss
of loved ones, warfare, threats to one’s life, and sexual abuse. As the name suggests, the

psychological disorders, there are ways that these disorders may be managed either through
suppression of their effects and occurrence or through behavioral intervention (Xue, Ge,
Tang, Liu … Zhang). The fo...
